A series of phosphors, Ca₆BaP₄O₁₇:0.02Eu²⁺,xGd ³⁺ (x = 0, 0.005, 0.01, 0.015, 0.02, 0.025) is synthesized by solid state reaction of CaCO₃, BaCO₃, NH₄H₂PO₄, Gd₂O₃, and Eu₂O₃ (alumina crucible, 5% H₂/N₂ stream, 1280 °C, 10 h).
