Palladium-induced selective B(4)−H activation is achieved by the reaction of
o-carboranylthioamide and [PdCl
2(CH
3CN)
2]. A tetranuclear palladium complex is formed in high yield. Mononuclear and trinuclear palladium complexes are obtained directly from the reaction of tetranuclear palladium complex with small molecules, such as
