In article 1603276, J. Shi, H. Zhang, L. Mei, and co-workers describe black phosphorus nanosheets (BP NSs), which could lead to an enhanced antitumor effect, by a triple-response combined therapy strategy. When they enter the cancer cell, the BP NSs can produce a local high temperature initiated by an 808 nm laser. Release of loaded doxorubicin can be triggered by the laser and heat, leading to a combined photothermal–chemotherapy effect, which effectively kills the cancer cell. Moreover, under the influence of chloroquine, the degradation of BP NSs in the lysosome can be inhibited. The drug is then concentrated in the cell nucleus.
