文摘
Husky zero-valent silicon stabilized by a bis-N-heterocyclic carbene ligand is capable to reduce CO2 to CO without the slightest effort to form the respective SiO and SiO2 complexes as reactive intermediates. The SiO2 complex reacts rapidly with two molecules CO2 to form the corresponding silicon dicarbonate complex. In their Communication on page 1894 ff., M. Kaupp, M. Driess et al. describe the synthesis of the latter which results from facile transformation of a silylone in the presence of CO2.
