On page 1604571, L. Zhang and co-workers introduce a new design of a magnetic micromachine for significantly enhanced fluidic trapping, which has a dumbbell-shape, composed of a nickel nanowire and two polystyrene microbeads. The magnetic dumbbell-like micromachines are capable of performing dynamical trapping and implement on-demand transport of microscale objects with induced microvortices in three locomotion modes, i.e., tumbling, wobbling, and rolling.
