The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the pan id="mmlsi7" class="mathmlsrc">pan class="formulatext stixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si7.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=944f8b730bcac9bffb264c63b0082d73" title="Click to view the MathML source">v2pan>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode"><math altimg="si7.gif" overflow="scroll"><msub><mrow><mi>vmi>mrow><mrow><mn>2mn>mrow>msub>math>pan>pan>pan> of single charged particles at high pan id="mmlsi8" class="mathmlsrc">pan class="formulatext stixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si8.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=d326eba5bc19e18321ee2db7aae3cd7f" title="Click to view the MathML source">pTpan>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode"><math altimg="si8.gif" overflow="scroll"><msub><mrow><mi>pmi>mrow><mrow><mi mathvariant="normal">Tmi>mrow>msub>math>pan>pan>pan>. Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
