Flow boiling experiment in “Ω”-shaped grooved tube with R134a was conducted. Heat transfer coefficient was enhanced 1.5–3.3 times than smooth tube. Effect mechanism of gravity on grooved tube was quite different from smooth tube. Downward flow showed highest heat transfer and horizontal flow showed the lowest. Dominant boiling heat transfer was different in different flow direction.
