This study revealed the potent probiotic attributes of Lactobacillus fermentum RS-2. Lactobacillus fermentum ME-3 was used as standard (Control) culture. RS-2 strain has shown better in-vitro probiotic attributes vis -a- vis ME-3. This strain exert scavenging effect to free radicals & superoxide anion. RS-2 has discernible antimicrobial potential against intestinal pathogens. RS-2 probiotic can be effective to modulate various biochemical markers associated with diabetes.
