Improvement the visible light photocatalytic activity of gold nanoparticle, Co2O3 and nitrogen doped TiO2 nanofibers

Appreciable photocatalytic behavior of TiO2-GNP/Co2O3/N nanofibers under visible light illumination was observed. A 135 nm red shift from 360 to 495 nm was observed for TiO2-GNP/Co2O3/N nanofibers compared to the pure TiO2 nanofibers. TiO2-GNP/Co2O3/N samples under blue light irradiation were shown to be highly sensitive to NO gas at room temperature. The mechanism relies on LSPR effect of GNPs and the effect of induced trap-state levels created due to the additives.
