This paper presents general and simple closed-form expressions for the PDF and CDF of the a619346af51080" title="Click to view the MathML source">α–μ/a619346af51080" title="Click to view the MathML source">α–μ composite fading distribution. These expressions are presented in terms of the well known Fox H-function, and are valid for arbitrary values of the fading parameters. Based on these expressions, the PDF and CDF of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are also obtained in closed-forms. Capitalizing on the derived expressions, new relationships between the a619346af51080" title="Click to view the MathML source">α–μ/a619346af51080" title="Click to view the MathML source">α–μ distribution and the extended generalized-K (EGK) distribution are introduced. To the best of our knowledge, these relationships have not previously been reported elsewhere. In order to prove the correctness of the analysis, we provide some analytical and simulation results.
