Zn0.5Cd0.5S/WS2 heterojunction is successfully prepared by hydrothermal method for the first time. The photocatalytic activity of Zn0.5Cd0.5S can be remarkably promoted by the introduction of WS2 as a co-catalyst. Heterojunctions between Zn0.5Cd0.5S and WS2 are responsible for the improvement on the catalytic activity.
