Study of resonant modes in a 700 nm pitch macroporous silicon photonic crystal

Macroporous silicon photonic crystals with 700 nm of pitch have been studied. Samples with optical response in two wavelengths (7 μm and 4.5 μm) were analyzed. Frequency shift is linearly dependent respect to the cavity length in both ranges. MPS PCs are a viable solution for designing gas detection devices in the mid-IR.
