IN718 superalloy specimen was fabricated via the AM (additive manufacturing) technique. Rapid solidification in AM process formed a fine dispersion of δ phase at interdendritic region in IN718. The horizontal specimen of STA specimen exhibited only one-fourth ductility compared with the vertical specimen at 650 °C. The interdendritic δ precipitates with incoherent interfaces were found to affect tensile ductility at a high temperature.
