Using Γ±(z) vertex operators of the c=1 two-dimensional conformal field theory, we give a 2d-quantum field theoretical derivation of the conjectured d-dimensional MacMahon function Gd(q). We interpret this function Gd(q) as a 80570a826fe76235"" title=""Click to view the MathML source"" alt=""Click to view the MathML source"">(d+1)-point correlation function che/MiamiImageURL/B6TVC-4S2MHWB-2-TV/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzV"" alt=""View the MathML source"" title=""View the MathML source"" align=""absbottom"" border=""0"" height=16 width=""109""/> of some local vertex operators che/MiamiImageURL/B6TVC-4S2MHWB-2-VG/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzV"" alt=""View the MathML source"" title=""View the MathML source"" align=""absbottom"" border=""0"" height=17 width=""47""/>. We determine these operators and show that they are particular composites of q-deformed hierarchical vertex operators che/MiamiImageURL/B6TVC-4S2MHWB-2-VW/0?wchp=dGLbVzb-zSkzV"" alt=""View the MathML source"" title=""View the MathML source"" align=""absbottom"" border=""0"" height=22 width=""31""/>, with a positive integer p. In agreement with literature's results, we find that Gd(q), d4, cannot be the generating functional of all d-dimensional generalized Young diagrams.
