Increase in foodborne outbreaks derived to plant products has been reported by EFSA. Study focuses on the bacterial safety of raw/frozen fruit, vegetables and sprouts. Typing of Salmonella spp., STEC, L. monocytogenes and MRSA has been performed. Results indicate that food of plant origin in retail poses a low risk to consumers.
