Au recovery was achieved from secondary flows resulted in the processing of WPCBs. In 4 h the H2O2-HCl leaching system dissolved 30% of the initial amount of Au. Gold electrowinning was performed with a rotating disk electrode. Biwer-Heinzle method was applied for the environmental assessment of the process. Besides the high efficiency the process proved to have low environmental impact.
