Facile synthesis of Fe3O4 nanoparticles via aqueous based electro chemical route for heterogeneous electro-Fenton removal of azo dyes

Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4) were electrochemically synthesized. FESEM, VSM, FTIR and XRD analysis confirmed the successful synthesis. CNTs were uniformly coated on carbon plates by electro deposition technique and modified plate applied as the cathode electrode. Fe3O4 was used as heterogeneous Fenton catalyst. Two acidic dyes were efficiently removed by electro-Fenton process and the effect of operational factors on discoloration process was investigated.
