Activation entropy and anomalous temperature dependence of viscosity in aqueous suspensions of Fe2O3

文摘
Viscosity of a Fe2O3 was shown to increase rather than decrease with increasing temperature. In terms of an Arrhenius equation, a negative Gibbs activation energy for flow is implied. Effect due to the partially colloidal nature of the suspension A description in terms of an activation entropy and activation enthalpy is suggested. The activation enthalpy is similar to that for water up to a solids concentration of about 10%.
