Plants contain abundant kinds of antiviral compounds, including proteins, alkaloids, flavonoids and phenols and so on. Microorganisms are rich in many kinds of antiviral compounds, such as proteins, polysaccharides and antibiotics and so on. Both polysaccharides from algae and oligochitosan from animals exhibit efficient anti-plant-virus activities. Biogenic antiviral substances, with the advantage of high activity, and less environmental pollution.
