The first molecular phylogenetic study of the South Asian land snail Corilla is presented. Nine of the ten nominal Sri Lankan species of Corilla are included. Analyses are based on three mitochondrial genes (CO1, ND1 and 16S). The results suggest speciation in Corilla has involved repeated, ecologically-driven convergence in shell form. The mtDNA data agree only partially with current, morphologically-defined species limits.
