Biomimetic surface modification of PP was successfully conducted by integrating mussel-inspired technology, thiol chemistry and cell outer membranes-like structures.

The resultant biomimetic surface exhibits good interface and surface stability.

The obvious suppression of protein adsorption and platelet adhesion is also achieved.

The residue thoil groups on the surface could be further functionalized.
