A pulsed scanning wind lidar is deployed in complex terrain. Statistics of wind turbulence relevant to bridge engineering are studied. A comparison with data from sonic anemometers installed on the bridge deck is done. Wind lidar may complement sonic anemometers to measure wind turbulence. New configurations adapted to bridge engineering application need to be developed.
