Microbiological Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of (±)-Norbornanone by whole-cells of Pseudomonas putida NCIMB 10007 have been performed in the presence of organic solvents. Thus, two phase systems consisting of water and different water-immiscible organic solvents, and monophasic organic systems have been examined and referred to an aqueous medium. The effect of the solvent used on the regioselectivity of Baeyer-Villiger oxidation have also been discussed.
