The daily work of nurses has been affected by an increased number of infections requiring isolation. Nursing care has expanded to include the management of infectious diseases, which has resulted in trade-offs, cutting corners, and concerns about missed care. Innovative approaches are required to manage infections requiring isolation, and workload measurement should accommodate the increased time required for infection prevention and control.
