An organocatalytic sequential α-amination/Grignard addition reaction of aliphatic aldehydes is reported. The synthetically useful anti-vicinal amino alcohol derivatives were obtained in high yields and with high stereoselectivities. These derivatives could be easily transformed into oxazolidinones.
