The capillary performance of wicks is enhanced by alkaline corrosion treatment. The applicability of grooved aluminum heat pipes in space is increased. The optimal corrosion parameter gains an enhancement of 155%. A novel prediction method is proposed to calculate the capillary limit of heat pipes.
