The investment casting performance of an aviation precision part made from TiB2/A356 aluminum base composite was investigated. According to the function equation between the volume fraction of TiB2 and thermal-physical property parameters and in combination with Pro CAST for the secondary development of its database, the thermal-physical property parameters of the volume fraction of 10% TiB2/A356Al were established. Investment casting simulation and experiment were conducted for an aviation part. The results indicate that the problems of shrinkage porosity defects have been resolved by increasing of pouring temperature and casting speed, adding the insulation materials around the gate and riser.
