The hydrogen storage properties and transition mechanism of CaMg2-based alloys are clarified.

The hydrolysis performance of hydrogenated CaMg2 hydrides is discussed for the first time.

CaMg1.9Ni0.1 alloys absorb 5.65 wt% hydrogen at 25 °C with Ea being 41.74 kJ/mol.

An undefined hydride in Mg-Ca system has been determined to be Ca5Mg9H28.
