Unwinding structural pathways towards formation of a new fullerene-C60 mediated gold nanocomposite. By taking advantage of nucleophilic addition reaction to hydrophobic fullerene-C60, the new composite was designed, and paved pathways towards newer functional materials. Successful fabrication of the nanocomposite-based electrochemical non-enzymatic glucose sensor showed high electro-catalytic activity and effective electron transfer.
