Icebergs in the Amundsen Sea based on SAR have been studied using SAR data. An object-based method for automatic iceberg detection has been developed. The detection rate of the method is 96.2%, corresponds to 93.2% of the iceberg area. An algorithm tends to generate 3.8% of ‘misses’ and 7.0% of ‘false alarms’. An iceberg probability of occurrence map is constructed for the first time.
