Secondary organic aerosol formation from photo-oxidation of toluene with NOx and SO2: Chamber simulation with purified air versus urban ambient air as matrix
Photo-oxidation of toluene/SO2/NOx in chamber in ambient air versus in purified air. Higher SOA productions and yields in matrix of ambient air than of purified air. Enhanced SO2 degradation and sulfate formation in ambient air matrix. Higher particle acidity in ambient air matrix promoted acid-catalyzed SOA formation. Elevated OH levels observed in ambient air matrix than in purified air matrix.
