Rates of the hydrolysis reaction of UH3 with water and water vapour are reported. The initial reaction is very rapid, consuming at least 5% of the UH3. The subsequent reaction rate depends on the temperature of UH3 preparation as well as the hydrolysis temperature. The reaction rate of α-UH3 with water is much greater than that of β-UH3.
