Turbulence modulation studied owing to the single particle–fluid interaction.

Isotropy nature of turbulence does not change even particle–fluid interaction.

Turbulence intensity attenuated if dp/Lx≤0.41 and converse was also true.

Spectral slope less steep than −5/3 was found due to particle–fluid interaction.

Enhancement of energy was maximum in the inertial subrange.
