Upper Ordovician Wufeng–Lower Silurian Formation shale was geochemically analyzed. Organic-rich shale intervals were deposited under anoxic to euxinic conditions. Elevated productivity at the lower Longmaxi Formation was induced by P recycling. Changes from strong to moderate restriction during the Late Ordovician to Early Silurian. OM accumulation model was established for the Wufeng and Longmaxi formations shale.
