A simple method to fabricate high-performance nanostructured WO3 photocatalysts with adjusted morphology in the presence of complexing agents

The rich and complex chemistry of tungsten was used to fabricate WO3 nanostructures. The morphology, size and catalytic properties of the nanostructures were adjusted. Tree-like and spongy nanoplatelets were obtained depending on the ligand employed. A photoelectrochemical improvement of 244% was obtained for the best sample. These novel nanostructures can be used as high-performance photocatalysts.
