Anti-NMDA encephalitis is an important differential for unexplained encephalitis. For the first time we have confirmed the diagnosis in adolescents and adults in Vietnam. Psychiatric symptoms are followed by movement/autonomic disorder and convulsions. Treatment is usually with high dose corticosteroids. A robust evidence base is required to support clinical management algorithms.
