CaF2 Nps isolated using co-precipitation method was characterized using XRD, FESEM, AFM, Zeta potential measurements, etc. The antibacterial activity of CaF2 Nps against both Gram negative and Gram positive bacterial strains was tested. The MIC values of CaF2 Nps evaluated by turbidimetric assay against selected bacteria were found to be very low. Further, cytotoxicity of CaF2 Nps was determined by MTT assay and show non-toxic behaviour towards eukaryotic Vero cells. Selective toxicity of CaF2 Nps towards prokaryotic bacteria suggests its potential application as antibacterial agent.
