Investigation of complex formation of β-lactam antibiotics and Ag(I), Cu(II), Zn(II). Thermodynamics of complex formation were assessed by ITC. Activity of all complexes tested in minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) assays. The Ag(I):β-lactam antibiotic complex formation confirmed by NMR. Inhibition of β-lactamases responsible for resistance monitored by enzymatic assays.
