Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) conditions using polynomial design for improving antioxidant phytochemicals in Berberis asiatica Roxb. ex DC. leaves
Berberis asiatica leaves were explored for health promoting antioxidant products. The microwave extraction method was designed for phenolics and antioxidants extraction. A total 12 phenolic compounds were detected at optimal condition. The experimental values were comparable with predicted values. The extract was effective in prevention of erythrocytes and deoxyribonucleic acid damage.
