This meta-analysis investigated the advantages of LAI-APs over oral APs for patients with recent-onset psychotic disorders. Pooled LAI-APs did not outperform oral APs in terms of the preventing of relapse. Pooled LAI-APs outperformed oral APs in terms of discontinuation due to inefficacy and nonadherence.
