We investigate t
he existence of c
hiral zero modes at

hs/BQ2.GIF>1 GeV in quenc
hed domain-wall QCD. Simulations are carried out for t
he plaquette and an RG-improved gauge actions on a 12
3 × 24 ×
Ns, lattice wit
h Ns = 10 − 50. We find t
hat t
he pion mass in t
he c
hiral limit remains non-vanis
hing as
Ns → ∞ for bot
h gauge actions. Possible origins of t
his non-vanis
hing pion mass are discussed.
