文摘

Blood- and plant-feeders share salivary effectors that inactivate host defenses.

Among these effectors, apyrases inhibit extracellular ATP signaling.

Two other candidates, calreticulin and peroxiredoxin, inhibit Ca2+ and H2O2 signaling.

These effectors may be used by plant-manipulating insect to reprogram the plant.
