Porous Ce-doped ZnO hollow spheres are successfully prepared by a facile method. 0.3% Ce-doped ZnO have an excellent performance to degrading MO (99%). The applicability of 0.3% Ce-doped ZnO to other pollutants are also praiseworthy. The mechanism is fully investigated from the kinetic of photogenerated charges.
