DNA binding study of [La(phen)3Cl3·OH2] were carried out by different techniques. The La(III) complex has been screened for its antibacterial activities. The complex binds to DNA via minor groove mode of interaction. To deeply explain the experimental findings, the DFT computation and NBO analysis are carried out.
