Data of 226 donors who underwent bone marrow harvest from 2002 to 2014 were analyzed
Bone marrow harvesting on an outpatient basis was successfully performed in 176 of 226 patients
A high volume of aspirated bone marrow represented a risk factor for inpatient admission
No adverse events or deaths occurred in the inpatient or in the outpatient setting
Outpatient bone marrow harvest is safe and feasible for the majority of donors.
