We study an integrated scheduling and due date assignment problem.

Each job can be assigned a different due date and its value is upper bounded.

The criteria include earliness, tardiness and due date assignment penalties.

We show that the problem is equivalent to a two stepwise weighted tardiness problem.

We study several special cases and mainly focus on providing approximation results.
