Design and testing of a heat pump and heat pump-infrared dryers. Energy and exergy analysis of carrot drying in HP and HP-IR dryers. Maximum exergy efficiency was 66.8% and minimum exergy efficiency was 31.6%. Investigation of the effects of IR and HP on drying uniformity and drying behaviors of grated carrot. Energy efficiency varied between 5.3–50% and IRAHPD saved 48.8% drying time compared to HPD.
