The study represents the first technical attempt on land-based aquaculture and economics of Atlantic cod in Northern Spain. Cod fish product can be achieved through partial water reuse strategies under non-favorable water thermal conditions. Organoleptic tasting revealed the acceptability from consumers of the reared cod fish product, fulfilling their expectations. In “close-to-market” productions product price dependent costs and local commercialization opportunities are key parameters.
