Three candidate genes (HOMER1, SLC6A4 and TEF) were resequenced for Chinese patients with both of MDD and SA. Seven potentially deleterious variants, possibly affecting gene expression or gene structure, were found in the three genes. Suggesting that not only common variants but rare variants could make contributions to the genetic susceptibility to MDD and SA in Chinese.
