Cobalt oxide modified CBT-based ceramics were prepared and investigated in detail.

XRPD analysis revealed Co ions enter into B-site of CBT-based ceramics.

CBT-Co4 ceramics show the enhanced d33 of 14 pC/N and Tc of 782 °C.

CBT-Co4 ceramics present the improved high-temperature resistivity.

Thermal depoling behavior indicates CBT-Co4 ceramics exhibit good thermal stability.
